Minister
Stephen Williams has served as minister of First
Presbyterian Church since 1994. A native of Indiana, he and his wife Claire are
parents of three daughters. He is a graduate of Yale University and holds a
Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. He received a
Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. Dr. Williams is a
former Merrill Fellow at Harvard Divinity School, is presently a member of the
Pastor-Theologian program sponsored by the Center for Theological Inquiry at
Princeton, and served as moderator of Savannah Presbytery in 2005.
Associate Minister
William Shelburne graduated from Presbyterian College with a major in
religion and philosophy. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia
Theological Seminary. A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Will was an East Lake
Scholar while in seminary and participated in a student group, Claiming
Justice. He lived and served in the innovative East Lake Villages building
community life. He also did a two-semester unit of clinical pastoral education
at an inner city mission. He is married to the former Sara Winegar.
